It’s innate to human nature that in seeking a spouse, women care more about a man’s future while men care about a woman’s past. Via the head-body analogy preached by St. Paul (Eph 5; Col 3), it’s reasonable that the body’s chief concern is about where its head will lead her, whereas the head’s primary concern is that its body is uniquely his.
