‘Phone-Choice’ Mentality

This may sound like a lame comparison, but I sense we can see a glimpse of the ‘pro-choice’ mentality in the way people respond to dialing a wrong number.

I’ve never understood why a person immediately disconnects after being informed he’s dialed a wrong number. There is no “Oh, I’m sorry, it looks like I dialed the wrong number” or “I’m sorry and thank you for your time” – but rather, there’s often an immediate hang-up/disconnection without any goodbye. It’s as if as soon as they realize you’re a ‘mistake’ your entire humanity is vanished within their minds. It’s a rather bizarre phenomenon.

Obviously, being killed is much worse than being hung up on after fielding a wrong number. Yet, there’s something similar in the way certain people mentally see you when you’re perceived as a ‘mistake’ in their lives, especially when they’re unable to physically see you. And this is the case when you’re on the phone, on social media, or in the womb.
