Is ‘Sexual Preference’ Outdated?!

In the Senate Judiciary hearings last week, Sen. Mazie Hirono of Hawaii scolded Amy Coney Barrett – not for her judicial philosophy, but for using the term “sexual preference.”

Hirono argued the term is outdated and offensive, since no one chooses homosexuality or transgenderism.

This illustrates two common disingenuous tactics that characterize the progressive Left:

1) the continual redefinition of terms to fit their narrative, and

2) the willful ambiguity maintained in order to speak to emotions rather than satisfy the mind

No one ever knows whether the words “homosexual,” “gay,” or “LGBT” refer to orientation/attraction or acts/behaviors. That’s a huge difference. While emotions, passions and attractions may be involuntary, one must choose to either embrace one’s disordered desires and act upon them, or refuse to entertain them and to never act on them.

And this choice does boil down to preference:

a) the preference to be in the state of sin by mimicking acts of love that are abusive by nature, or b) to live in a state of grace in accord with human nature and God’s will.

Since the arch-enemy of the Left is Truth, they must work tirelessly to persuade the masses through the media to accept their redefinitions and ambiguity in order for their scheme to work.

The sad thing is, countless people will now follow Hirono’s lead without questioning, bringing society further into the rabbit hole of insanity.
