When Victimhood is Inevitable

Those who don’t go through the prism of the divine Logos inevitably see themselves as victims, and harbor the poison of bitterness and resentment.

On the other hand, the supernatural gift of faith enables one to see the fallen world as it is, tainted by the evil of selfishness for which we are partly to blame. It renders us able to accept injustice suffered as an opportunity to atone for injustices with which we have burdened others.

Without Christ, humility and forgiveness are not viable options, which leaves us compelled to carry the burden of an anger that seeks vengeance and a cynicism that embraces death.
