“The dogma lives loudly within you.”
We are a believing species. Unlike animals that live by instinct alone, our intellects must judge truth from falsehood, right from wrong. We must discern and choose to believe certain tenets about reality.
We know what we know through three means of information: faith, reason, and experience. This corresponds to our will, intellect, and senses respectively. Most of our certainty as humans comes through faith (in parents, teachers, doctors, traditions, the media, “experts”, Church, etc.). Its discerned through reason and confirmed through experience.
Therefore, everyone follows dogmas (tenets of belief), albeit different ones. You couldn’t be human if you didn’t. The only question is of which dogmas one accepts.
When Diane Feinstein tells Amy Coney Barrett, “The dogma lives loudly within you – and that’s a concern,” she’s really saying her concern is that Barrett doesn’t believe the same dogmas she does; that Barrett doesn’t place her faith in progressivism, an ideology based on emotion and desire rather than reason. Christian dogmas are perfectly reasonable; secular progressive ones are not.
It concerns Feinstein that Barrett does not subscribe to the foolish religion of Leftist fundamentalism with its hypocritical and contradictory dogmas that most Democrats subscribe to.
Despite the continued blindness of Feinstein and the progressive Left, hellbent in their quest to rationalize selfish behaviors or the glory of Self, the dogmas accepted by Amy Coney Barrett are ones accepted by most of the framers of the Constitution and all civilized people. They correspond to objective truth, goodness and justice.
Thanks be to God that, for Amy Coney Barrett, the right dogma lives loudly within her.
