When Reality Challenges Your World View

The most uncomfortable place a person can be is in the midst of cognitive dissonance. A person’s view of reality is challenged by reality itself, which attacks one’s fundamental beliefs and sense of identity.

There are three ways to respond to this internal crisis: 1) dig deeper with your will despite contrary evidence your mind presents to you; 2) die to yourself, your ego, and alter your beliefs; or 3) attempt to make friends with cognitive dissonance by attacking the notion of objective truth.

The first response is often the result of pride, the second of humility, and the third is the solution proposed by the post-modern cultural Left.

Only the second demonstrates true freedom and leads to happiness.
