What’s the Deal with the Lack of ‘Real Men’?

Women are publicly complaining that there aren’t enough “real men” today. A real man controls himself and his environment according to the true and good. This means taking responsibility and providing reliable leadership.

If men cannot control themselves they will never lead well. Yet, for 50 years men have been given little motivation to control themselves – from women. For the immature and those without a healthy fear of God, ‘the pill’ created a culture of “available” females; and it was a glaring invitation for men to put away virtue for pleasure. More recently, internet pornography has exacerbated the crisis.
.
Recent backlash against radical feminism by influencers with secular values misses the point. Generally, they’re exchanging the model of feminized man for macho man, whereas the ‘sensitive man’ of the 1970s did the opposite. This pendulum swing between extremes will not land in the middle without Christian virtue to intercept its momentum.
