Truth is Often Simple

In one sense, illegal immigration is like abortion: Supporters of each purposely ignore the primary questions in order to focus on secondary matters. The clear primary questions are these:

  • Is abortion the intentional killing of an innocent human being? Yes. Is killing an innocent human being always a grave injustice? Yes.
  • With the exception of refugees from an adjacent country, is it wrong to break into another country and remain there illegally? Yes. Should those who break the legitimate law of a country ever be ignored or rewarded? No.

Isn’t it obvious that all other factors, motives, or consequential arguments – as important as they may be – are irrelevant next to to these primary points?
