Falsehood Leads to Two Extremes

It’s interesting that today’s post-Christian agnosticism holds two extremes with regard to the afterlife: there is no Heaven and everyone goes to Heaven. In other words, nobody goes there and everyone goes there.

But this is the normal pattern that results from holding onto an erroneous premise.

Some other examples:

Modern societies that do not recognize the dignity of the human person as made in the image of God end up with either communism or fascism.

Not understanding the human soul leads to ether anthropological dualism or materialism.

Distorting the truth of woman leads to her becoming either more manly or more of a ‘sex kitten’.

And a lack of faith leaves a person to wallow in either anger or depression.

All the big errors of life lead to two extremes, which, in another sense, are very similar in nature.
