Avoiding Divorce through Faith and the Word

Divorce is often the result of a constant battle of the wills.

What might be the remedy to this ailment?

Scripture speaks of two important acts of faith, which can greatly impact one’s worldview and stave off marital rupture:

1. God’s will must always be top priority over one’s desires in all decision-making (Mt 6:33).

2. If a man cherishes his wife as his own flesh (Eph 5:28-29), it makes it easier for her to be subject to him (Eph 5:22, 24). When the masculine and feminine aspects of love as cherish and respect are truly in sync, the lover-beloved dynamic reflecting the love between the Father and the Son, will flow. When this love is properly open to life, marriage and family reflect the Blessed Trinity, of which it is a living earthly icon.
